We believe that when families learn how to train their own puppy, the experience of bringing a dog into the home becomes even more enjoyable and rewarding. A well‑mannered, calm, and confident dog starts with consistent, positive training—and we want to empower our families with the tools to make that happen.
Our goal is for you to experience the joy of teaching your puppy, building trust, and creating a lifelong bond that begins the moment your puppy comes home.
To support you on this journey, we have partnered with BAXTER & Bella, one of the best online puppy training programs available. This is the very program we used to train Millie, and we truly cannot say enough wonderful things about it. Their step‑by‑step lessons, videos, and professional guidance make training simple, fun, and incredibly effective for families of all experience levels.
We recommend getting signed up before your puppy comes home so you have time to review and get familiar with the platform and feel like you are prepared to bring your new puppy home. There is a section that is all about preparing for your new puppy as well as the first few days home with puppy.

Our Favorite Puppy‑Proof Bed
If you’ve ever raised puppies, you know how quickly they can destroy a dog bed. They chew, tug, and love pulling out every bit of stuffing they can find! After trying countless options, we finally found something that truly holds up—Kuranda elevated beds.
These beds have been a game‑changer for us. They’re durable, easy to clean, and completely puppy‑proof. Our puppies love lounging, playing, and napping on them, and we love that they stay in great shape no matter how much the puppies climb, chew, or wrestle on them.
We highly recommend Kuranda beds for anyone looking for a long‑lasting, puppy‑friendly option that can withstand all the fun (and chaos!) that comes with raising a Goldendoodle.
Our puppies are introduced to potty trays at around 3 weeks of age, right when they begin to move about independently and develop natural cleanliness habits.
Using potty trays from such a young age helps puppies learn where to go, setting a strong foundation for future house training. As they grow, they naturally seek out the tray, keeping their sleeping and play areas cleaner and more comfortable.
By the time our puppies leave they are already familiar with the concept of potty training — giving new families a smoother, less stressful start and helping puppies feel confident in their new environment.

We believe that good nutrition is the foundation of a healthy, happy dog. That's why we recommend NuVet supplements to help support your puppy's immune system, skin and coat health, joint function, and overall wellness. While no supplement can replace a balanced diet and regular veterinary care, NuVet is a quality product that we've chosen as part of our commitment to giving every puppy the best possible start in life.
Crate training is an important part of helping your puppy feel safe, secure, and confident in their new home. A properly introduced crate becomes your puppy’s own comfortable space—a place to rest, relax, and learn good habits. Crate training also helps with potty training, preventing unwanted chewing, and keeping your puppy safe when they cannot be directly supervised.
We recommend choosing a crate with a divider panel so the space can be adjusted as your puppy grows. A puppy’s crate should be large enough for them to stand, turn around, and lie down comfortably, but not so large that they are able to use one area as a bathroom. The divider allows the crate to grow with your puppy, providing the right amount of space from puppyhood through adulthood.
Puppies are curious little explorers, and they can get into trouble surprisingly quickly when they aren't being watched. When you need to leave your puppy alone for an extended period of time or simply cannot keep your eyes on them, we strongly recommend using a small, secure containment area rather than giving your puppy free access to the entire house.
A puppy play yard or exercise pen provides a safe space where your puppy can play, rest, and have access to appropriate toys without the opportunity to get into things that could be dangerous.
One of our favorite options is FWX fencing, because it can be used both indoors and outdoors and can be configured to create a secure area that works for your space. As your puppy grows, the area can be adjusted to give them more room while still providing safe boundaries.
A safe containment area is especially helpful during those first few months while your puppy is learning house rules, potty training, and what they are—and aren't—allowed to chew!
Remember: If you can't watch your puppy, give them a safe space!
Food puzzles are great to slow down their eating and also challenge their brain.
